Why does the moon change shape?

Can you search through the newspaper and find some information about the moon,  or the stars or the planets?

As it is the international Year of Astronomy, the Herald Sun is publishing some special features.

Don’t forget to look at the night sky in August.
We loved visiting the Planetarium.

Shadows

Do you know what a shadow is?

Why is your shadow different at different times of the day?

Does the sun move across the sky?

Prep m 2009

Prep M is an amazing little bunch of girls and boys.  There are 9 boys and 11 girls.  We mainly live in beautiful Warrandyte, on both sides of the river.  This term we are learning about Safety and our bodies.  On Monday, we will visit the police station, and will have Sprinter and friends visit us.  Anne from the RACV visited us and told us lots about how we can be safe road users.

Prep M  -How are you safe at home?  Can you draw and list 3 things that make you careful?

Can you start decorating your special treasure “Senses Boxes”?

Did the boys look both ways?

Anne visited us.  She told us we need to be 140 cms, before we can sit in the front of the car, and we need a booster seat, because we are still little.

When we cross the road we need to hold an adults hand, and look for a safe place before we cross.  We must Stop, Look Listen and Think.

What special things do you need to remember when you ride your bicycle?  Can you think of 3?

Ben is not quite 140cms tall. He must sit in the back seat with a booster.
